Friday Fun: Open Thread!

A completely unrelated picture of my little female Boxer puppy who is coming home with me on Tuesday. A semi-flashy brindle with a small white snip on her muzzle.

A few readers loved the idea of having open threads where we can talk about anything under the sun (as long as it still follows our discussion policy of course). So here’s the first one!

Anyone playing anything fun?  Anyone have any interesting plans for the weekend to share?  Comment away!

@Jamie In my experience that’s about how xp is handled in the source material. I personally don’thave any of the source books for oWoD, so it could be a house rule or nWod only, but I don’t think so.

That’s interesting, I’ve got Planescape: Torment from Good Old Games, but haven’t played it yet, did you ever manage to finish it? I keep hearing it’s astoundingly good, but I got distracted by prettier graphics.

I’ve never played the oWoD games (or any RPG to be honest) but I’m really looking forward to the MMORPG that’s being made based on it. It (the actual RPG) always sounded like the most interesting one out there, and I’m hoping the MMO is like the image I have in my head…

  3. Yeah I’ve played through Torment a few times. It is really good; at least the writing, the gameplay that isn’t dialog in places is a bit tedious; and the art direction has some problems when it comes to women.

And the new World of Darkness does handle experience that way as does Exalted, so I would assume the old version does too. Though I also haven’t actually looked at the older works.

I started two games and would recommend both.

http://ou.operation-universe.4players.de/index.php?area=login is a nice free to play

and Evil Genius is a very nice old game. Much like Dungeon Keeper playing in the sixties with a Bond villain as your player character.
You can have a female avatar (the two male avatars are lookalikes of Blofeld and Fu Man Chu) and only 50% of the female characters wear revealing clothing.

to be fair to PS:T if I’m remembering everything correctly the men were just as not terribly clothed as the women (well the main character at least was, though to be fair in the opposite direction The Nameless One isn’t sexualized so…)
