Community Twendsday #9

First off, apologies for missing a post last week. I was away on a work conference and unexpectedly hectic. This post is also a little late (*cough* title) but all being well we should return to normal next week.

Onwards then! Guild Wars 2 and Diablo 3 will be coming up very soon – both are in Beta and have big groups in the IRC waiting to play. Left 4 Dead 2 will becoming the Diablo 3 session some time later this month and Dota 2 is becoming less formal. If anyone wants to take over either of these please let me know, or leave an ID in the post below so we can find each other. We’re trying Mass Effect 3 a bit earlier to see how that goes for our European users.

I’ll just do another plug for our IRC as well – remember it’s open to all, to discuss any number of things, and it’s easy to use. Come visit some time especially if you’re a long time lurker! We love you all.

That info again. To join our IRC, Mumble, Steam, or anything else - the server connection details are on the initial post. Again, to be clear – this isn’t just for playing games – there’s people chatting off and on all week.

Events for week beginning 29th April 2012

Organizing cross time-zone is very confusing, so we’ve made an iCal feel you can add to your Google Calendar/iCalendar. If you’re signed into Google, it should convert all times to your current timezone – I recommend “agenda” view. We’ll post the events on Steam as well if you join our group.

Here’s a list of these event times, but the calendar is the gold standard – check that for updates.

  • Thu 3 May, 20:00 GMT – 18:00 EST: Mass Effect 3 with Nene. There will potentially be an additional session later depending on who’s around.
  • Thu 3 May, 23:30 GMT – 18:00 EST: Left4Dead 2 with Llamaentity. (TBC)
  • Fri 4 May, 23:00 GMT and,
  • Sat 5 May 04:00 GMT Guild Wars with SerCorbiuGeisha and Dee.

For Left4Dead 2, join our Steam group chatroom. To do this go to the “Groups” tab on your friends list, click the arrow next to “The Border House” group and click “Join Group Chatroom”.

For Guild Wars, join the IRC and we will add you to the clan guild as soon as possible.

For Mass Effect 3, join the IRC or share your Origin ID below!

    I played the GW2 beta on the weekend and it was a ton of fun, and convinced me to preorder the game. eeee!

    I am also in the Secret World beta, also for preordering, and that starts May 11. Are we looking to get a guild together for that? I am currently in another multi-game guild, but with the 3 factions in the game, coordination is tricky.
